A pre-school I worked on is finally under construction. There are lots of small details to address in the framing stage. Thankfully, I don’t need to worry about anything when it comes to plumbing — my favorite plumber Vadim Larkin is on the job. He just installed a Geberit in-wall concealed tank for a wall-hung toilet.

I recommended a wall-hung toilet because it is easy to clean around and maintain. In addition to improved functionality, there were aesthetic reasons for specifying a wall-hung toilet. Lifting it off the floor allows for continuation of finishes on all of the surfaces, which results in a more streamlined, functional bathroom.

Most importantly, a wall-hung toilet requires less space than a standard toilet; we saved ten inches, which was critical in this case!

An in-wall concealed tank fits within a 2×4 stud wall. Some plumbers are not familiar with the system, but Vadim is on the cutting edge! He knows how to properly connect to the water supply and how to conform to drainage and venting requirements.

Sometimes called a concealed cistern, each in-wall flush toilet tank is leak-tested before shipment. It efficiently consumes less water. Apparently, “standard flush volume saves thousands of gallons per year as compared to an ordinary toilet.”

Furthermore, Geberit’s in-wall concealed tanks are compatible with wall-hung toilets made by every major ceramic manufacturer. Adjustable bowl height meets personal preference or ADA guidelines.

When pairing a wall-hung toilet with a Geberit in-wall concealed tank, you achieve a clean modern look and have a greater flexibility of toilet placement in a bathroom. Besides, you improve accessibility.

A dual-flush plate is the only visible element. According to the installation manual, it also provides a “tool-free access to all the working parts of the system, including the fill and flush valves, should simple maintenance ever be necessary.”

No matter the type of stall, a toilet equipped with an in-wall concealed tank for a wall-hung toilet will be more efficient and easier to clean around. Sorry if I am beginning to sound like a broken record. But if you are still not convinced, please call Geberit or contact me here.
