The Home Depot Merges Design Inspiration With Life

Believe it or not, I expect to find original solutions and design inspiration for most of my projects at The Home Depot. I roam the isles and enjoy my builder-designer juices flowing. The other day, an idea came to mind.

Everyone is talking about organizing for the holidays. Updating hardware might not be the first thing on the list, but surrounding yourself with beauty is certainly a design inspiration. My friend has a country-ish style kitchen. Here at The Home Depot, there are so many knobs and pulls to choose from! This could be my gift to her!

I can help her replace drawer and cabinet door knobs to upgrade the look of her kitchen. My design inspiration would be: achieving a relaxed style by effortlessly combining old and new. The Home Depot, as usual, can accommodate my need to be inventive and frugal at once.

Design inspiration: blending recycled with the handmade

It shouldn’t look as if it came right out of the catalog. The result is quite achievable if I look for options with personality and maybe even with flaws. My design inspiration is to infuse something quite boring and lifeless with a touch of artistry.

The Home Depot gives me an abundance of choices

lots of options

I proceed to the isle # 12: Hardware. Here, I don’t need to ask an associate for help. Everything is conveniently displayed and within reach. Actually, I love The Home Depot system of organizing such an abundance of merchandise. There are hinged bins sporting each design with plenty of stock inside. Prices and skew numbers (for reference and comparison) are right there as well.

Even though, there are “6,000 additional designs” that can be found online, I am quite satisfied. I pick out a few options to show my friend. They are well made and affordable. I hope she is on board with the plan. I will present the design inspiration and The Home Depot advantage argument in the next couple of days.

P.S. If anybody else is inspired to tackle the task of switching out drawer and cabinet door hardware as a way of organizing before the holidays, you can find some very helpful tips here.
