Tailor Space to Your Lifestyle: Home Design Ideas that Blend Form & Function (part five)
In the previous post I write about celebrating creativity. Here I want to insist that you do not need to put up with makeshift solutions. Bedroom design ideas converge on a simple objective. How does one tailor space to his or her lifestyle is the question.
So, when it comes to bedroom design ideas, the focus is on relaxation.
In our mind, we blend form and function; we do not separate them. When we think of a bedroom, we conjure up images of a healthy environment for deep sleep. It’s a sanctuary. It’s all about comfort and successful storage. Isn’t it?
Design ideas file tip #5 / bedroom:
UPLIFT & CONNECT
Problem: Not enough room for two conventional nightstands.
Solution: Let it soar — embrace setbacks.
Explore a residual in-between space.
Suspend bronze anodized aluminum ledges from the headboard and adjacent dresser.
Added Benefit: No-clutter, tranquil bedroom promotes restful sleep.

I don’t quite get how you attach the headboard to the bed.
Alla Kazovsky
Actually, they are not attached. The headboard is hung on the wall with a cleat.

Super! This bedroom design idea is just for me. My bedroom is very small. I had no choice but to keep my glass of water and telephone on the floor—I have not been able to find a nightstand that would fit between the bed and the closet. Thank you very much!

It’s my pleasure!
